How to Cook Dal Makhani at home
Preparation time - 20-25 minutes
Cook time -20 minutes
Served to -4-5 person
Ingredients
. Black gram skinned ( 300 gm)
. Kidney beans (75 gm)
. 2 tomatoes
. 2 medium size chopped onion
. 2 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
. 2 tablespoon purified butter (ghee)
. 2 tablespoon butter
. 1/2 cup fresh milk cream
. 1 cinnamon (1 inch)
. 3-4 green cardamom
. 1 black Cardamom
. 6-7 black pepper (crushed)
. 1 tablespoon of cumin seeds
. 2 bay leaves (tej patta)
. 2 cloves
. 2 cloves
. 1-2 star
. 1 tablespoon red chilli powder
. Salt as needed
. 2 tablespoon kasoori methi
Preparation
. Bring black gram and kidney beans clean and wash them . Add soaked them for 7-8 hours. After 7-8 hours that gram and kidney beans will be ready to cook.
. Bring a pressure cooker on the stove add soaked gram , kidney beans in it add 3-4 glass of water in it. Now cover up the pressure cooker at medium flame. After 6-7 whistle switch off the gas. Now open the pressure cooker .That black gram and kidney beans will be cooked.
. Now bring all spices in one plate. Bring chopped onion ,tomato puree aside.
Step by step process to Cook Dal Makhani
. Bring 2 tablespoon ghee in a pan on the stove. When ghee starts heated up add all spices in in it . Add chopped onion in it after 10-15 seconds. Stir untill color of onion become light golden. After that add ginger , garlic paste in it. Stir untill color of all the stuff become light golden,then add tomato puree in it. Fry all the stuff untill they leave the surface of pan. Then add one tablespoon garam masala powder in it. Add red chilli powder ,mix all the stuff well.
. Now add cooked gram
, Beans in it mix well. Add 3-4 glass of water and salt in it. Stir all ingredients for 2-3 minutes then add fresh cream, kasoori methi in it. Cook for 7-8 minutes. This mixture should not be very thick or nor be very liquid. After that switch off the gas. Add 2-3 tablespoon butter in it. Now Dal Makhani is ready to be served. Served with rice,indian bread or chapati.
